Everyday Banquet is pure and simple, a meal planning blog. This blog comes about after years of collecting recipes and organizing weekly meals for my family. Sure, meal planning is a chore, but for me it has always been a challenge – both to try something new and to tap into my love for organization. I realize not everyone is like me… So, this is a place, I hope, where readers who want to cook more or even love to cook, but are super busy, can find inspiration and practical guidance.
On Fridays, I post four to five dinners and a grocery list to help you shop and prepare for the coming week; meals should feed about four adults. The best part is that my family has already enjoyed these meals, usually the week before, so along with recipes and/or links to recipes I share my advice and insight from having already prepared the meals. Throughout the week I also include posts about recipes, ingredients or markets that inspire me.
About me
Welcome! I’m Kelly Verel and I live in Brooklyn with my husband Patrick and our beautiful daughter Eliza who eats nothing but carbs (living the dream!). Over ten years ago, I had an epiphany after reading Eric Schlosser’s Fast Food Nation and moved from my parent’s house on Long Island to western Massachusetts where I became an apprentice farmer at the Farm School. I lived in a tent, despite my hatred of camping, worked 10-12 hour days and sold produce at a Boston farmers market. After the farm, I worked at Greenmarket, a network of farmers markets in New York City, and am now working at a non-profit helping to develop and revitalize farmers markets across the US and Canada.

Congratulations Kelly! This looks really great. Best of luck to you! I can’t wait to try some new meals with my (very picky) kids.
Thanks, Moira! Hope you, Ian and the kids are great. My daughter literally eats nothing that I cook for her, but I remain hopeful that will change after she gets through being a toddler!
I love it! I can already tell I like gour recipes too 🙂
Thanks, M!
